Trails

It’s so wonderful when I have a friend help me shoot! This week I got to take my Chloe inspired post into “real time” with the help of my friend Anna. After showing her a few images from some of my favorite sites like MNZ, Number 6, and Closet Visit, she found a location that was both interesting and had an excellent amount of light. The best part was we got to change shoes and enjoy a nice hike afterwards!

Chloe Inspired

Like most fashion oriented women I am a huge fan of British designer Phoebe Philo. She first worked at Stella McCartney and now heads the label Céline but is most well known for her iconic work for the beloved brand-Chloe. This week there was one vintage Chloe blouse at the Veteran store and one of Phoebe Philo’s designs (they both soon to be up on our ebay). Here are a few pieces of clothing that emulate the spirit of a “Chloe girl”:

How Coach Became Cool Again

DSC_1671

DSC_1674

Coach is a brand that I didn’t take seriously until recently. Growing up I always had this concept of the brand as mall oriented, unoriginal, overpriced, and emphasizing logos. However, as I became more aware of their design history I found that they used to produce more clean and timeless looking bags . I started collecting their vintage satchels (as did friends of mine) and noticed how closely they resembled cool modern bags like the Sofia. Today I have a lot of respect for whoever at Coach  decided to re-invent the brand by diving into it’s archives and reintroducing shapes from the 70′s. The bag featured above is vintage (one of many Coaches too pass through our stores) and was priced at under $100 but it is very much like the modern remake currently sold online for $300!

Cape Alert!

DSC_1636

My fascination with capes is nothing new. I believe that they are an incredibly overlooked option of outwear because they require a fearless attitude and an accommodating handbag. This one from the Canoga Park store is made of a deep green suede with a salmon silk-y lining, and has button and leather detailing at the collar. Such a special piece!

I will admit my own trench coat/ cape at home does not get nearly enough wear . . . but this is only because I can never seem to get comfortable driving around in it.
